Nice spot to stop for one night while traveling to your destination but would not want to stay any longer. Not very much area to walk your dogs - just right along Hwy 95 in front of the park with the trucks and other traffic zooming by, my dogs did not like that. [...]

Beautiful park and lots of area to walk your pets. The site we were in was level.

To expensive for sites that are not level. The other problem we had is our electric is on the very back of our fifth-wheel - we had to pull so far forward we were almost out of the site with the front of our truck. We did not want to unhook for a [...]

"Cypress Bend RV Park" in Iowa, Louisiana - was rated: 7

We stopped here overnight while traveling from Texas to Tennessee. The directions said to go 0.2 miles from exit, and we missed the entrance requiring us to travel another mile to find a place to turn around. The entrance says RV Park, but didn’t see the actual name anywhere. The entrance is [...]

"Shady Cove RV Park" in Hattiesburg, Mississippi - was rated: 3

The office was already closed when we arrived. Posted at the office was an eraser board listing the sites available for us to use. The sites were poorly marked and in a random order. We had difficulty maneuvering through the park. We would only stay here again as a last resort.

"American RV Park" in Albuquerque, New Mexico - was rated: 8

Our only complaint for this park is the cable TV’s limited channels: no ESPN on the system so no Monday night football! Otherwise we like it and stay at least a couple times a year as we go through the area.

The part of the park near the office is well maintained, but the section at the other end is not! There were lots of weeds, especially the ones with stickers. If you want quiet, this is not the park for you. They have a “bar” on the grounds and have live bands [...]

"Cactus Gardens" in Yuma, Arizona - was rated: 6

We spent alot of time researching the RV parks in Yuma. Between the military air base, the active railroad through town, and I-8 running east/west, it’s challenging to find any quiet place to stop for a few days. We used our Coast to Coast membership to get the noted rate. The park [...]

"Gulf Waters Beachfront RV Resort" in Port Aransas, Texas - was rated: 10

This place is beautiful. It is by all means a top notch resort park. I choose a premium site on a pond closest to the beach at $55.00 per night. The only noise at night is that of the waves coming into shore on the beach. All roads and sites are [...]

How Old Were You When You First Went Camping?

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Do you remember your first camping trip? How old you were? Seems like yesterday when I was eleven years old, and I went camping for the first time with neighborhood kids, who had invited me along on an overnighter under the stars along the banks of the Licking River in northern Kentucky.
My family wasn’t much [...]
