Got Foil?

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Campers like meals that are quick and easy to prepare. That way there’s more time to do other things at the campground. Foil wrapped recipes are simple, require few cooking utensils, and leave little to cleanup. They can be prepared just as easily in your oven at home as they can on a grill or [...]

"Oak Glen RV & Mobile Home Park" in Chandler, Oklahoma - was rated: 6

We have the Passport America discount so it is $10 a night. There used to be a pool, but it is in disrepair. This is also a mobile home park, and the mobile home residents mostly do not obey the 10mph signs. This stirs up quite a bit of red dust. [...]

"New Bern KOA" in New Bern, North Carolina - was rated: 7

This is a nice park if you are in one of the dozen or so premium sites. They are long and wide, have good size patios and are fairly level packed gravel. The other sites are short and very narrow and are not suitable for anything over 35′. The park is clean [...]

This was a very nice park. Campers were all quiet and respectful, within reason. Many bike trails/rides within immediate proximity. You can rent pedal boats and kayaks just across the street. Wi-fi worked smoothly for us. We had to wait in line a while to dump, upon checkout. The [...]

This is a nice park in a good riverside location though we felt that the bathroom facilities (if you need to use them) were poor. However, If you need wireless internet, you should be careful about which site you are on. We arrived on a cloudy. wet day and were placed on [...]

"Blackstone North RV Park (Was Yosemite Trailer & RV Park)" in Fresno, California - was rated: 6

Rate is based on $175 weekly. We were pleasantly surprised on our return to what is now called Blackstone North RV Park. The new owners have made several improvements since our last visit including painting, removing some of the old beat-up rigs and generally sprucing things up a bit. Although the bathrooms [...]

"Abita Springs RV Resort" in Abita Springs, Louisiana - was rated: 6

The CG is rustic (no paved roads, sites, etc) but in good condition (if it does not rain). The drainage (this is typical Louisiana) is not good on some sites. The staff is great and helpful. Make sure you have an ground “dish” for sat TV! We have family in the [...]

Nightly rate is a passport figures. Passport says that they are not associated with them but they do offer a passport rate for 3 night with water and electricity. I payed an extra $2.00 for 50 amp service. Nice campground with very easy pull through sites. Gated entry which is nice. [...]
