"South Padre Island KOA" in South Padre Island, Texas - was rated: 6
We were here in snowbird season and the campground appeared to cater to longer term folks, mostly in motor homes and huge 5th wheels. I would not characterize this as a friendly place–people appeared very involved in their own circles, even at social events scheduled by the campground. We were first assigned a site that had problems with length and soft turf making it hard to unhook. The neighbor said this site was chronically a problem. We were re-assigned but the TV hookup was corroded and managers weren’t in a hurry to look into it. On the plus side it was convenient to places on the island and much much nicer than the crowded public park. We would stay here again, but would expect more courtesy for the price.
