"Stillwell RV Park" in Alpine, Texas - was rated: 5
This is a funky cowboy/horse area type campground property. There is a small store and “museum” on property - usually live music at night in the “museum”, along with story-telling, DVD’s of local interest. Often meals are available too, home cooked by the owner (who is very friendly.) It is a freat way to enter eastern entrance (at end of 385 from Marathon) of Big Bend. You might be parked next to a horse trailer. Email in advance for more information before you come - long way back to Marathon or Alpine. Full hookups 50amp, and less, available on dirt parking lot surrounded by desert and mountains. There are no real park facilities, but you are in the middle of nature and with fun-loving and amusing people who stay here - it’s a real experience you aren’t likely to find anywhere else. We would definitely come again. This listing should probably be under Big Bend National Park or Marathon, not Alpine.
